Chiswick

Learn More about Chiswick: Chiswick is a sizable suburb of west London, England and a part of the London Borough of Hounslow. It is situated on a meander of the River Thames, 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Charing Cross and is certainly one of 35 major centres recognized in the London Plan. It was in the past an old parish in the county of Middlesex, with an agrarian and fishing economy. Getting good communications with London from an early time the area grew to become a well known country retreat, and included in the suburban development of London in the late 19th and early 20th centuries the population of Chiswick considerably broadened. With neighbouring Brentford, it grew to become a municipal borough in 1932 and has created a part of Greater London since 1965.
